At the auction 19th Century Furniture, Sculpture,
Works of Art and
Ceramics on April 24, 2002, Christie’s, New York, sold
the following: “A
Berlin (K.P.M.) porcelain rectangular plaque of Ruth, late 19th century,
impressed monogram and sceptre mark, incised 9–6, impressed
H and R.
Finely painted after Landelle with a raven haired maiden in gray shift
and headscarf holding a bundle of wheat 9 1/8 x 6 1/4 in. (23.8 x
16
cm.) within gilt wood frame,” lot 336 (illustrated), which refers
to the
current artist and image.
